Erwin Würth

How it all began

Working with wood has been a favourite pastime of his since childhood, the love of wood as a material goes back a long ways. During a vacation on the coast of Denmark Erwin discovered his artistic talent when he found pieces of driftwood that had randomly washed up on the beach. He started to playfully arrange them into images. By this process, discarded materials which seem useless to most of us are given new life. Since 1993 Erwin's work has been shown extensively in and beyond Germany.
